Book your stay
Welcome to the Maol Reidh Hotel
The Maol Reidh Hotel, Tullycross is under new guidance from March 2018. We are found in beautiful Connemara, on the Renvyle peninsula, beneath the gaze of the mountains of Connemara and Mayo, within a few minutes walk of the sandy beaches of the wild Atlantic ocean. A short stay can involve a long itinerary, or, conversely, a time to merely relax, unwind and chill out. Our emphasis is simple - enter our world and prepare to be minded.
On The Wild Atlantic Way
The Maol Reidh is just a few minutes walk from the beach and is situated on the Wild Atlantic Way, on Connemara's rugged coast. Just 10 minutes’ drive will get you to any number of beaches, to Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park and Killary Harbour. This charming seaside hotel enjoys views of the Connemara & Mayo Mountains, local boglands, and the ocean while been located in a country village setting.
We offer modern, stylish rooms, free WiFi in all areas, a cosy lounge and an excellent restaurant and bar. Each spacious bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, a TV, dvd player, an iron, a hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. We have a library of books and films to pass away the restful hours.
Our Food & Drink
Our Iasc restaurant is proud to serve local fare, ranging from Leenane mountain lamb, west coast beef and local seafoods. We are delighted to work with local growers such as John Ward of Dooncastle Oysters, Bernard King who rears organic Leenane mountain lamb, Martys Mussels which are harvested along Killary harbour and Gabriels Aran Island goats cheese to name but a few. We pride ourselves on our morning feast -breakfast, it is important to get your day off to a good start.
Our bar is one in which to meet and greet over a beer, wine or any of our range of drinks. Or merely sit back, sip away and watch the world go by. Join in our regular musical and singalong evenings.
So what can you do outside of our house - well tour the surrounding Connemara countryside, scuba dive, fishing in the fresh loughs or in the salty seas, boat trips, visits to nearby islands, hiking in the hills, trekking through the national park, romancing on the white sandy beaches, day trip to Kylemore, visit our capital (Clifden ), golf in Connemara links or Westport parkland. Swim, run, hire a cycle, chat and reminisce of days of old, visit our pubs in the village, view the Harry Clarke stained glass windows in the Church, well worth a look. Lots and lots to do.
